Secondly, non-contact rotary Torque Sensors from Datum Electronics have been designed to fit with almost any application, where accurate rotary torque and power measurements are required. Therefore, the M425 Rotary Torque Sensor is mounted in line with the drive train or test bed, using standard keyway shaft connections.

A non-contact torque sensor features a non-contact transmission system, that provides data directly proportional to torque. It means that the torque sensor is supplied as a complete torque transducer with bearings to support the stator unit on the rotating shaft, making it an ideal choice for most general test rig applications.

The M425 Non-contact rotary torque sensor utilises a strain gauged shaft and a set of rotating on shaft conditioning electronics. The digital signals are then transmitted from the shaft to the non-rotating part of the system or stator, providing a reliable and highly accurate torque measurement solution. Considering that the analogue signal conditioning is completed within 25mm of the strain gauges, the M425 Dynamic Torque Sensors are very stable, when subjected to temperature variations and electrical noise.
Furthermore, the M425 rotary torque transducer has an optimal torque measuring element design, to maximise overall accuracy and give a high degree of tolerance to mounting offset.

The DUI has 4 programmable analogue channels, that can be chosen from 0-20mA, 4-20mA, +/-10Vdc, +/-5Vdc, 0-10Vdc, 0-5Vdc for the output of torque, rpm and shaft power, etc.  Using the DUI, an M425 rotating torque sensor becomes the simplest choice for anyone, looking to use a precise torque, speed, and power measurement system.
